Webscale Jobs | Senior Database Administrator (MySQL / Opensearch / Mongo) (Remote) at Cisco

The successful applicant will be performing work on US Government classified environments, and therefore, must be a U.S. Person (i.e., U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee). This position may also perform work that the U.S. government has specified can only be performed by a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil.

What You'll Do

Maintain the production database health and perform end-to-end DBA activities
Solve database issues and provide solutions for resolution
Collaborate with teams to integrate data across multiple systems
Develop and maintain scripts for the automation of database tasks
Implement and maintain database security and access controls
Monitor database performance and optimize the database for efficiency and scalability
Develop and implement database backup, periodical database audits, and recovery strategies

Who You'll Work With

You'll be a member of the DBA team and your primary work is to monitor the production databases. You will be working along with other teams like L1, L2, and development teams.

Who You Are

Lead and administer MySQL, Opensearch, Mongo, and other database systems in AWS cloud environments
You have strong theoretical and advanced current practical knowledge of MongoDB
Able to work with cross-teams
Continuously research new database technologies and implement them when appropriate

Minimum Qualifications

5+ Years of work experience in the DBA domain
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred OR equivalent experience
The candidate should have experience in solving real-time problems
Managing large production systems
Strong MySQL DB / AWS RDS knowledge
Mongo database knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

Elasticsearch database knowledge
3+ years of recent work experience with MongoDB is highly desired
AWS Cloud database knowledge
AWS certification (related to DBA)
Strong skills in Linux, and Ubuntu, and experience in writing shell scripts
