The Database Administrator will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of Cloud Platform Databases, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of our corporate applications. This is a “hands-on” position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and sustainment of multiple Cloud Databases, such as Snowflake, Azure SQL, SQL Server, and MongoDB ensuring operational readiness (security, health, and performance), supporting multiple development teams, and troubleshooting day-to-day operational issues as they arise. Must be capable of working independently and collaboratively.

This position sits within our Atlanta Support Center with an expectation to be onsite 80% of the time

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform setting up, deploying, and maintaining Azure SQL, MongoDB, SQL Server and Snowflake cloud platform and administration.
  • Manage security and access controls and tune Azure SQL, SQL server and Snowflake for performance and optimize utilization.
  • Build high quality solutions and establish design patterns to implement, monitor & maintain complex Snowflake and Azure Data bricks solutions. Implement CICD pipelines for the Cloud Databases deployment.
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes, monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
  • Configure and Complete understanding of Azure Data bricks cluster management, Snowflake architecture and Azure SQL.
  • Identify and Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and optimize the problematic SQL queries in Azure SQL.
  • Perform DR and DB restore activities and must have strong programming experience in SQL, Terraform, and Python.
  • Should work on the critical incidents and user service requests and responsible for SLA adherence, tracking and reporting.
  • Experience in Configuration changes and Upgrades. Collaborate with application/migration teams with database activities.
  • Should have knowledge of on how data get processed and consumed in Data Platform and how to automate the completed process.
  • Provides migration of database elements and online application components from development to the production environment.
  • Redesigns databases to address change in business needs. Should have experience in python & GitHub.
  • Performs database tuning and makes recommendations to optimize application performance.
  • Collaborate with the development and maintenance of standards, processes, policy and procedures.
  • Performs support, as required, adhering to on-call processes and problem escalation processes.
  • Adheres to change management processes.
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
  • Work as a member of Database Administration Team to provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
  • Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-Year degree in IT or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • 3+ years Administration on SQL Server, and MongoDB experience required.
  • 3+ years of SQL Server and performance tuning experience is required.
  • 3+ years of IT Support experience in an enterprise environment.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, or ABILITIES

  • Experience with performance tuning and optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for Snowflake, Data Bricks, Azure SQL, MySQL.
  • Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to organize and plan work independently.
  • Participate in 24X7 Support DBA On call Rotation.
  • Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.
  • Ability to commute to work, onsite 5 days a week.
  • Database Professional certifications a plus.
